Coastal Services is a well-established growing company involved in all facets of engineering including, fabrication, offshore, gas & petrochemical, mechanical, general & marine.  We set high standards through the pride in our work and are committed to the well-being of our staff and Health & Safety in the workplace.  We are currently building new facilities.

This role will require a large aspect of physical activity as you will be exposed to several number of environments, including work on board ships, confined space, workshop fabrication/projects.  You will also be required from time to time to work away from home.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Preferably competent in carbon steel pipe welding, previously held ASME IX welder qualifications.
  • Competent in MIG, TIG and stick welding.
  • Capable of following instructions
  • Ability to read & interpret plans/engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment.
  • Good time management skills & work to a very high standard.
  • Demonstrate good Health & Safety practises and maintain this as a top priority.
  • Competent with a variety of power tools.
  • Physically fit & reliable
  • Have a current clean NZ driver’s licence.

This role is full time working Monday-Friday from 7.00 – 3.30pm.  But must be flexible with hours of work.
